| an attempt to help them in order to know and | | | | |
| acknowledge their Creator. | | | | Verses 35:1-3 in different English |
| | | | translations of their meanings: |
| Verses 35:1-3 of the Noble Quran says that | | | | |
| Allah is the Originator of the heavens and | | | | Â |
| the earth, He is the Appointer of the angels | | | | |
| as messengers, and created them with wings. | | | | Verse 35:1 |
| Whatever mercy Allah unfolds for mankind, | | | | |
| none can withhold it and the vice versa. | | | |  |
| Remember Allah's grace towards you. Is there | | | | |
| any creator, other than Allah who provides | | | | QARIB: praise belongs for Allah, the |
| you with provisions and necessities? | | | | originator of the heavens and earth, who |
| | | | appointed the angels to be messengers, with |
| Â | | | | wings, two, three, and four. he increases the |
| | | | creation as he wills. Allah has power over |
| Verse 35:1 says: | | | | all things. |
| | | | |
| Â | | | | SHAKIR: all praise is due to Allah, the |
| | | | originator of the heavens and the earth, the |
| Praise be to Allah, the Originator of the | | | | maker of the angels, messengers flying on |
| heavens and the earth, the One Who created | | | | wings, two, and three, and four; he increases |
| them without any precedent, Appointer of the | | | | in creation what he pleases; surely Allah has |
| angels as messengers, to His prophets, having | | | | power over all things |
| wings in sets of two or three or four. He | | | | |
| multiplies in creation, in angels and other | | | | PICKTHAL: praise be to Allah, the creator of |
| creatures, what He will. Surely Allah has | | | | the heavens and the earth, who appointeth the |
| power over all things. | | | | angels messengers having wings two, three and |
| | | | four. he multiplieth in creation what he |
| It is also said that the verse means: | | | | will. lo! Allah is able to do all things. |
| | | | |
| Praise be to Allah means gratitude and favor | | | | YUSUFALI: praise be to Allah, who created |
| belong to Allah, the Creator of the heavens | | | | (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, |
| and the earth, who appointed the angels; Who | | | | who made the angels, messengers with wings,- |
| created and honored the angels and made them | | | | two, or three, or four (pairs): he adds to |
| messengers i.e. He sends them with a message | | | | creation as he pleases: for Allah has power |
| to His created beings; this refers to the | | | | over all things. |
| great Angels Gabriel, Michael, Esraphiel, the | | | | |
| angel of death, thunder and to the Guardian | | | | Â |
| angels (having wings) i.e. the angels have | | | | |
| wings (two, three and four) wings with which | | | | Verse 35:2 |
| to fly. | | | | |
| | | | Â |
| He multiplies in creation; in the creation of | | | | |
| angels what He will;it is also said that in | | | | QARIB: whatever mercy Allah opens to people, |
| those wings are what He wills;and it is also | | | | none can withhold; and whatever he withholds |
| said: whomever He wills is in good | | | | none can release after him. he is the |
| fortune;and it is said that this means: | | | | almighty, the wise. |
| whomsoever He wills has a good voice. | | | | |
| | | | SHAKIR: whatever Allah grants to men of (his) |
| Lo! Allah is Able to do all things of | | | | mercy, there is none to withhold it, and what |
| increase and decrease. | | | | he withholds there is none to send it forth |
| | | | after that, and he is the mighty, the wise |
| Â | | | | |
| | | | PICKTHAL: that which Allah openeth unto |
| Verse 35:2 says: | | | | mankind of mercy none can withhold it; and |
| | | | that which he withholdeth none can release |
| Â | | | | thereafter. he is the mighty, the wise. |
| | | | |
| Whatever mercy Allah unfolds for mankind, in | | | | YUSUFALI: what Allah out of his mercy doth |
| the way of provision or rain, and any other | | | | bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: |
| provision or well-being, none can withhold | | | | what he doth withhold, there is none can |
| it; and whatever He withholds, thereof, none | | | | grant, apart from him: and he is the exalted |
| can release it after Him, that is, after His | | | | in power, full of wisdom. |
| withholding it. | | | | |
| | | | Â |
| And He is the Mighty, Whose way prevails, the | | | | |
| Wise, in that which He sends and in what He | | | | Verse 35:3 |
| does. | | | | |

| Â | | | | |
| | | | QARIB: people, remember the blessings of |
| Verse 35:3 says: | | | | Allah to you. except for Allah, is there any |
| | | | other creator who provides for you out of |
| Â | | | | heaven and earth? there is no god except he. |
| | | | where then do you turn? |
| O mankind, O people! Remember Allah's | | | | |
| grace towards you in the form of rain, | | | | SHAKIR: o men! call to mind the favor of |
| provision and well-being! | | | | Allah on you; is there any creator besides |
| | | | Allah who gives you sustenance from the |
| Is there any creator, any god other than | | | | heaven and the earth? there is no god but he; |
| Allah who provides for you from the sky rain | | | | whence are you then turned away? |
| and from the earth vegetation? There is no | | | | |
| God save Allah who provides you. | | | | PICKTHAL: o mankind! remember Allah's grace |
| | | | toward you! is there any creator other than |
| Whither then are you turned; from whence do | | | | Allah who provideth for you from the sky and |
| you lie and claim that your deities provide | | | | the earth? there is no Allah save him. |
| for you? | | | | whither then are ye turned? |
| | | | |
| In other words, There is no god except Allah. | | | | YUSUFALI: o men! call to mind the grace of |
| So how then do you deviate?, how are you | | | | Allah unto you! is there a creator, other |
| turned away from affirming His Oneness when | | | | than Allah, to give you sustenance from |
| you already affirm that He is the Creator and | | | | heaven or earth? there is no god but he: how |
| the Provider? | | | | then are ye deluded away from the truth? |
